1. Why can't I listen to the stream?
When you first click on "Listen Now," a registration
pop-up window will come up with the media player. This is
not an ad and is required to be filled out before you can
access our audio stream.
There is a chance this registration pop-up actually popped
UNDER your browser and you do not see it. If this is the case,
minimize your browser and any other windows you have open
to see if you can find the registration pop-up. Fill out the
form and hit submit. The player should then appear and you
can then listen to the broadcast.
To listen to the stream, you need to be using
Internet Explorer version 5.5 or higher, Macromedia Flash
Plug-in version 6 or higher and a Windows Media Player.
2. Do I have to put my personal
information every time I click to listen?
No, you won't if you have cookies enabled on your system.
With cookies enabled, this information needs to be typed in
one time only. Once you have given us your information, you
won't be asked for it again. You can also decline to give
any personal information should you choose.
3. Why are there advertisements
and why are they different than the on-air ads?
Due to legal reasons, we are required to "cover up"
on-air ads. The American Federation of Television and Radio
Artists (AFTRA) require a significant surcharge for rebroadcasting
their commercials via the Internet. We also "cover"
on-air ads with new ads in order to generate some revenue
to pay for the cost of Internet streams.
4. Why does the stream stop to
rebuffer over and over again?
Check your connection to the Internet. If at all possible,
check on other computers to see if you run into the same problem.
If you are using a slower connection like dial-up, this will
occur more often than with broadband.
5. I'm using Netscape and it's
not working. What gives?
The newest version of Netscape has a pop-up blocking default.
Find it and disable it and this should work. If you're using
Netscape 6 or older versions, try using Internet Explorer
with the Flash 6 plug-in; older Netscape versions don't support
the correct plug-ins for the stream. To bypass the pop-up
blocker, simply hold down the SHIFT or CTRL key while clicking
on the desired button.
6. My browser crashes once I access
the audio stream. What should I do?
The techs at Microsoft believe there may be an incompatibility
with Yahoo's toolbar. Once this toolbar is deleted, everything
should work fine.
7. I'm still having problems. Who
do I e-mail?
We have a "Trouble Ticket" that can help
us identify problems you might be experiencing: Click HERE
for help.
We appreciate you
listening to KNBR, The Sports Leader.
