No purchase is necessary to participate in a KNBR contest. By entering a KNBR contest, you accept our official rules as detailed below.
KNBR contests are open to any person 18 years of age and older residing in the nine Bay Area counties (San Francisco, Marin, Contra Costa, Solano, Alameda, Napa, Santa Clara, San Mateo, and Sonoma) and who are able to utilize the prize awarded in any particular contest. unless specified otherwise on individual contest rules.
Any individual who has won a KNBR
contest valued at $75.00 or more is not eligible to win another
prize for sixty (60) days from the winning of the first prize.
Any individual who has won a prize with a value of $600.00
or more is not eligible to win for one year (365 days) from
the winning of the original prize. Exemption: Winners of prizes
who win at "Sticker Stops" or other giveaways at
client locations.
KNBR (the
station) reserves the right to any video, audio, photographic
or print material involving the winner(s) for promotional
use without further permission or compensation. Winners agree
to participate with the station and its advertising agencies
in publicizing or broadcasting winners' names, winnings and
their picture or character likeness without further compensation.
Prizes are not transferable and may not be exchanged
for other prizes or for cash, except in the sole discretion
of the station.
Winners are solely responsible for all federal
and state taxes which may be applicable. Winners of prizes
with a value in excess of $600.00 will receive a 1099 tax
form in January of the following year, reflecting the value
of the prize.
Winners
of prizes in excess of $100.00 will be required to complete
an affidavit of eligibility. If a contest
winner does not respond to a prize notification within 15
working days, the prize will be forfeited and awarded to another
contestant.
In the event that the winner of a trip with
pre-determined dates cannot travel on the designated dates,
an alternate will be chosen and no consolation prize awarded
to the original winner.
If, after the contest has begun, changes or
updates to the rules are made, the changes will be announced
at approximately 7:30 a.m. on the day that the change is to
take affect. In addition, an addendum outlining the changes
will be available in the station lobby.
Employees of Cumulus Media Partners and its
affiliated companies and immediate members of their respective
families are not eligible to participate in any contest aired
on KNBR.
By participating in KNBR contests, each contest
participant agrees to release and waive any and all claims
for damage for death, personal injury, loss of property or
property damage that he or she may sustain as a result of
his or her participation in the contest or the use of any
prize and to release radio station KNBR, radio station KTCT,
Cumulus Media Partners, all contest sponsors and each of their
respective directors, officers, employees and agents from
any and all liability arising out of or connected in any way
with his or her participation in the contest, even though
that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness
on the part of the persons or entities mentioned above.
All contest
entries become the property of KNBR Radio. Complete contest
rules are available in the station lobby.
The station
reserves the right to end the contest earlier than the date
listed or to extend the length of the contest.
If, by
reason of error, more prizes are claimed than the number set
forth in these rules, all persons making purportedly valid
claims will be included in a random drawing to award the advertised
number of prizes. No more than the advertised number of prizes
will be awarded.
The station,
in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any
person tampering with the entry process or is otherwise in
violation of the rules. It further reserves the right to cancel,
terminate or modify the contest if it is determined that it
is not capable of completion as planned due to tampering,
technical failures or any other cause.
KNBR and
all sponsors are not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate
information, whether caused by entrants or any of the equipment
or programming associated with or utilized in the contest
or by any technical or human error which may occur in the
entering of and/or processing of the contest. KNBR and all
sponsors assume no responsibility for any error, omission,
interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transport,
theft or destruction or authorized access, or alteration to,
entries. If, for any reason, the contest is not capable of
running as planned or any other causes beyond the control
of KNBR and all sponsors which affect the administration,
security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this contest,
KNBR and all sponsors reserve the right at their sole discretion
to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest.
The decision
of station management with regard to the awarding of the prizes
and the interpretation of these rules shall be final.
Force Majeure: The failure of either
KNBR or the sponsors to comply with any provision of this
Agreement due to an act of God, hurricane, war, fire, riot,
earthquake, act of public enemies, actions of governmental
authorities outside of the control of either (excepting compliance
with applicable codes and regulations) or other force majeure
event will not be considered a breach of this Agreement.
